Ageing and Dementia

Half of people over age 50 have mild forgetfulness linked to age-associated memory impairment, although there are some normal age-related changes in memory and thinking, confusion and memory loss that interfere with your daily life are not part of the normal aging process. Other signs of ageing and dementia include, not being able to complete tasks independently, difficulty with naming items or close family members, forgetting the function of items, repeating questions, taking much longer to complete customary tasks, misplacing items frequently, not being able to retrace steps and getting lost, Ageing is a natural biological process that involves the gradual decline in physical and cognitive functions over time. One of the significant health concerns associated with ageing is dementia, a syndrome characterized by a progressive decline in cognitive function, affecting memory, thinking, orientation, comprehension, calculation, learning capacity, language, and judgment. As the global population ages, understanding the relationship between ageing and dementia, as well as the impact of dementia on individuals and society, has become increasingly important.
